Gift Giving - September Pinterest Party Photos

We had another great gathering of crafty friends.  We crafted, snacked and had a great time from 9am until 1pm.  Then we walked over to Sena Restaurant in Old Town Monrovia.  Delicious food and great company.     It was a perfect morning of accomplishing a lot and having fun.  Here are the fun things we either completed or got a great start.  I have so much fun with everyone, I find it hard to remember to take pictures but I think I've captured bits of what was done.

Alejandra and her cousin Eva worked on coffee mug sleeves. They cut copper, the hammered words onto the copper strips, punched holes and the colored them with alcohol inks.  The next step is to sew the sleeves and attached the phrases.

GinaMarie made the cutest felt reindeers.  Always something cute and unique!!

I made an assortment of birthday cards and inked up some dominoes for future projects.

Kathy made some more necklaces (she keeps giving them away!!).

Next party is Saturday December 8th.

Our Projects

What a fun day!  There were 7 of us crafting the day away:  Liz, MaryBeth, GinaMarie, Kathy, Alex, Alexis, and me!  Here are some photos of the projects we worked on as well as a couple of food pictures. I'll have to try to remember to take more pictures next time.  Let's start with the food.

These are chocolate covered pretzels with toffee bits on top, made by MaryBeth.
Coffee Cakes from the Monrovia Bakery.
 Cute cards created by GinaMarie.
MaryBeth and Liz created cards and tags using artwork from MaryBeth's children. Here is the pile of artwork the kids have brought home.

Here are some of the finished projects:  Cards lovely enough to be sold in a museum giftshop.
Tags to add a little wow power to gift giving.

Here is another picture of MaryBeth's stack of cards.  In the bottom right corner you can see GinaMarie's project sheet for a Burlap Wreath.

This is GinaMarie's finished Burlap Wreath hanging on her front door.  So lovely.

Kathy brought her beaded and crocheted project to finish for her granddaughter.

Here is the full length.

And here is a close up of the pendant hanging from it.  Sorry it's a little blurry.

I was having so much fun I forgot to take pictures of my projects.  I did pull these cards out to take a quick picture so I would have something to show for my day.  When I finally uploaded it from my camera I was so surprised to see this cute little face peeking out.  Yes, it's Lexi!  Wait until you see her project.

Are you ready for this?  Drum roll please.....
Yes, she's crafting on her nails.  Sorry I don't have an after picture.  I think she did help me with a few of my projects but mostly we just had fun chit chatting.

Look at the lovely card Liz is holding.  She made it by using the leaf die cutter on the kids artwork.

Below is a little thank you note from MaryBeth from her stash of one-of-a-kind cards.  Wish I had thought about this great idea when my kids were in school bringing home art everyday and running out of places to hang it!

Thanks for stopping by.  Our next craft date is September 22nd.  Make sure to mark it on your calendar.  Details to follow shortly.

I'LL BE BRINGING:

Invitation/Flyer

I am a Pinterest fan.  What is Pinterest?  It's this great online "bulletin board" where you can keep track of favorite places, pictures, ideas and sooo much more. No more pieces of scrap paper where I've written down something interesting I've found on the internet only to misplace it.  It's my new virtual memory/scratch pad of ideas.

To my first 15, I hope you'll email your pinterest link so I can add it to the sidebar.  That way we can do a little sharing before we meet for the first time, though I think you may have already met each other at one time or another.

Do you like my invitation?  I made it with SU!'s My Digital Studio.  Visit my website by going here: MDS free 30 day trial

Download it a few days before we meet and use it to get started on some Christmas or any occasion cards, tags, scrapbook pages.
There are so many fun things you can do with this program.  I hope you'll try it.

1st Pinterest Party Gathering

I don't have all the details today but I do have a date - July 14 - and a location.  The location I found has enough room for 15 people and we'll be there from 9am to 7pm.  We have been given an extra hour so that we can walk to Old Town for lunch and not be charged for the hour+ we'll be away.  Very nice of the Center and it will be fun to share the local community.

At least it's a start

I have been wanting to have a pinterest party and thought having a blog for it would be the best way to get my thoughts together and finally gather my crafty friends for some fun times.
